Two Local Rotary Clubs Host Beef and Beer Fundraiser; Benefits local food cupboards
On Saturday, April 4th, both The Rotary Club of Kennett Square and The West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club will host a Beef and Beer fundraiser that will benefit The Kennett Food Cupboard, The Bridge Food Cupboard in West Grove, as well as many other local organizations in need. "Our club is committeed to community service in Southern Chester County", says Karen Eichman, President of The Rotary Club of Kennett Square. We are thrilled to collaborate with other local clubs to maximize the funds needed to help local charities", say Eichman. The event will be held at the Kennett Square VFW Hall, 704 W. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square on April 4th. Doors open at 6pm. There will be great food provided by Rump Roasters, who cook up tasty BBQ at The Market in downtown Kennett. Dance music will be provided by the band, Almost There, there will be plenty of beer as well as non-alcoholic refreshments, and raffle baskets that include A Tour of Chester County and a Basket of Cheer. Tickets are $35 per person. Space is limited, so please get your tickets today. "We look forward to co-hosting this fun event", says Michael Caccavo, President West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club. "It is great to provide our time and talents to projects with Rotary friends while also working to raise funds for local non-profits", says Caccavo. The Rotary Club of Kennett Square Donates Over 82 Coats
This December, The Rotary Club of Kennett Square purchased and donated 82 brand new coats and they are all going to the families of the Kennett Family Center. "Our club has done this service project for 7 years now and this year we provided the most coats ever!", says Karen Eichman, President of The Rotary Club of Kennett Square. The coats were given to several staff members of The Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County (MCHC) at one of the lunch meetings of The Rotary Club of Kennett Square. MCHC's mission is to empower families to build a healthier and brighter futures for their children by overcoming the social and environmental barriers that lead to poor health conditions in our communities. "One of the programs of MCHC is The Kennett Family Center", says Barb Palmore, President-Elect of The Rotary Club of Kennett Square. "We are thrilled to provide a warm winter to area children", says Palmore.
The Rotary Club of Kennett Square Host A Night Of Bingo
On Saturday, October 19, 2019, The Rotary Club of Kennett Square will host a night of fun, BINGO fun that is, and all the proceeds will benefit Family Promise of Southern Chester County. "This event is our third BINGO event within the past 12 months", says Karen Eichman, President of The Rotary Club of Kennett Square. "It's so popular and we are thrilled to offer it again to the community as a fun night out", says Eichman. "People who attend bring their families, friends, favorite snacks, beer, wine, and simply enjoy playing and winning, all for a good cause", says Eichman.
This year, the cause everyone will be playing for is to benefit Family Promise of Southern Chester County. Family Promise is an organization that helps keep families who are experiencing homlessness together as they work on rebuilding their lives. "We are honored The Rotary Club of Kennett Square as chose us as their BINGO beneficiary", says Susan Minarchi, Executive Director of Family Promise of Southern Chester County. "We are looking forward to joining the fun on the 19th and appreciate the generous support we've received from our community", says Minarchi.
The event will be held at the Kennett Area Senior Center and doors open at 6pm with play starting at 7pm. The BINGO event will host a total of 10gams and each game players can win either cash prizes or 'holiday experiences' - - such as tickets to The Kennett Symphony December concert, overnight stays at a Bed and Breakfast, gift cards to local restaurants, holiday decor, wine tastings, Breakfast with Santa, and more! Also, attendess can try their luck at a 50/50 raffle as well as many baskets to win in a silent raffle auction. "This event is very popular and we welcome all people to come and join the fun, sign up, and reserve your seat before they are all gone", says Eichman. Entrance into the event is $35 per person.
